Construction / Sustainability
The construction of the shoe is designed so that the model can be produced with fewer work steps. Care was taken to have as few seams as possible, also for the purpose of easy cleaning of the shoes. For environmental reasons, a new construction was developed that requires less adhesive than conventional sneakers and can be manufactured with less material.
Certificates / Standards
In terms of standards and sustainability, VELT relies on gradual, verifiable further development. The materials used comply with EU directives and are REACH compliant. The corresponding evidence is obtained from the manufacturers. In addition, there is the vegan certification www.v-label.com as well as the CO₂ calculation and reduction strategy in cooperation with www.climatepartner.com. This process is supported by external consulting partners such as Halbinsel Agency: www.halbinselagency.com
Manufacturing
The sneakers are manufactured in Portugal, in the region around Porto. The upper is sewn by hand, and the assembly is also largely done manually. When it comes to sourcing, VELT places importance on obtaining materials from the region as much as possible, with the aim of reducing transport routes and preserving local production structures.
